Can the locks be re-pinned? was created by Shdwdrgn
Having dabbled a bit in lockpicking, I have taken apart a few locks... I'm wondering if anyone here has pulled apart the various KZ locks and changed the pins so they all use a matching key?

I may not be in too bad of shape -- I have an ignition and gas tank that use the same key, but the seat lock is coming from a different bike. I couldn't turn up anything in the search, so I figured I would just ask.

The tank will open with any key. And yes, I know a locksmith that told me he could rekey the locks to the same key provided I had the pins. If I didn't might be more work I guess. Makes sense I guess.

You can grind the end of the tumbler pins off to make them level with the tumbler case when the key is inserted. Best after swapping them around to get 1 or 2 still sticking up slightly, then grinding.

Thanks guys, but my question was aimed more at how much trouble is it to get the locks apart? I don't have one of the seat locks on hand yet, so I can only reference pictures online...and even when I do get one, I don't want to accidentally destroy it while trying to pull it apart.
