Gas Cap Diagram
26 Jul 2013 15:11
Checked all the usual places, Ron Ayers, Partzilla, my service manual, but no one breaks down the gas cap pictured below. If anyone could assist I'd appreciate it. I have fuel spilling out the key hole and I know there's an o-ring I have to replace, just want to get it all back together properly. Thanks.

There are three oil-rings/gaskets that can be replaced on the gas cap:
92055-1023 o-ring for each of the bolt-holes attaching the cap to the tank.
11009-1051 gasket...which is the large gasket seen in the photo provided.
Kawasaki shows these numbers as still 'active'. If the cap continues to leak, you might replace the entire unit. (and it is only sold as a unit).

I've replaced those already. What I'm looking for are the pieces within the cap itself. There are two cardboard gaskets, and also an O-Ring that attaches to the locking mechanism. I'm destroying the internet trying to find this stuff.... or I guess a new cap assy. is only $42.
The cardboard gaskets look ok but the o-ring (approx 2 centimeters) is shot. Thanks for the reply.
