81' Kz750 spoked wheels
24 Jul 2013 06:05
So this in my first Motorcycle and I'm looking to change up the look a bit, the bike is hard tailed and I'm wondering Is there a company that makes a set of spoked wheels for an '81 kz750, the thing is I'm look for them to be 19" & 21"..... Am I crazy or are they available? Are there any 60's-70's vintage wheels with the same bolt pattern? Thanks for any help!

The best match for your bike probably would be the wheels from an 81-82 KZ1000-M CSR. Those models have 48-spokes w aluminum rims 19" Fr & 16" Rr and triple disk brakes. The Fr disks are unique to the bike. You could use the Fr wheel from an 81-82 650-CSR, but you'd need the disks from the Big CSR. I guess Buchanan's could lace up a larger rim at the rear?
Forks & brake caliper alignment. i don't know if the disks from the 1000-CSR will align properly w the 750-Ltd forks & calipers. My guess is that they will, but you may end up needing to get the forks & possibly the triple tree from the CSR in addition to the wheels.
Something you can do is to look in the KZR gallery for a 750-4 w wire spoked wheels. They all came stock w cast alloy wheels, so if you find one w spokers you might be able to find out what they did by searching their posts.
