I am most definitely looking to basically use a straight bar, which in that case I will just fab it myself from 1" pipe, or maybe do a very moderate "v" style with 15 degrees back right in the center.

Just dont know what people would recommend for risers for this application. Not trying to use clip on style bars cause i dont like how low they are, but at the same time do not want to use something that comes up too far like im thinking a set of renthal bars for a dirt bike would

Doesn't Renthall make some tapered bars that are 1 1/8" down at the mount and 7/8" up at the controls end? Might be an option?

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

I used flat bars (drag bars) on mine, but the standard Master Cylinder hit the top of the forks...ended up using old school bar risers to lift them 3/4" to try and retain an original look to things.
This probably won't apply to your mods though....there are some very nice fully adjustable clip on style bars out there, but they aren't cheap.

I've used risers on my dual purpose bike and found the ROX Risers were best suited for my needs. You might want to check out their riser products HERE and see if there's something that may work for you.

decided on the renthal road ultra low bars in black for this application.

Only issue im seeming to have is finding a set of universal bar mounts that will allow me to either drill and tap the top triple clamp, or just drill and run a bolt through.

Anyone used anything like this??

I have used these on three of my builds. Sometimes the mount bolts are a bit long but nothing a hacksaw or cut-off wheel can't fix.

Here are the risers on my Gsxr project..

They're not super high but if you have access to a machine shop with a mill then you can always machine them down and shorten the bolt a bit more.

Follow link for one of many options.... Handle Bar Risers...

Renthal Fat bars 1 1/4" at center and 7/8ths on bar ends....
I used triumph risers but any with same openings would work just fine.

I used Renthal Ultra-lows on my current street bike(Sv1000s) and purchased some clamps for a dirt bike (TAG Metals bar mounts). The bar mounts were available in different heights and have worked great for me-careful measurement and drilling of the top clamp but also re-enforced the bottom side with a contured 1/4" piece of aluminum for more strength as the clamp was pretty thin-my bike originally had clip-ons.
