Gauge cluster meter-bracket (KZ1100-A)

Has anyone experienced breakage of the gauge (meter) bracket (at the bend), and what solutions the great-minds have come up with, short of replacement?

When available from Kawasaki, the 25008-1034 meter-bracket was pricey.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHave it rewelded? And maybe add a little extra material here n there for strength? I'm assuming it's steel.
My neighbor fixed a Honda Element fuel door hinge fairly easily... seems like a meter bracket could be done the same?

Not sure if this is correct for your bike.

Yep broke the one on mine, actually an LTD, but has same gauges. Had the thing welded back together, can't really notice it unless you go searching for the edge of the bracket. Can't see it breaking again anytime soon. It broke after some bad washboard gravel.

My 1000 LTD bracket fell off too. Going down the road. Looks like someone had welded it before. Searched and searched online, then just gave up and made a separate bracket to put stock broken bracket onto. The gauges sit a hair higher and hair forward from where they were, but no one has noticed that I ride with.

I did the same...I have a NOS bracket sitting in a box, but am reluctant to put it on the bike since they are impossible to find new, and ridiculous expensive when available from a Kaw. dealer.

Hi,

My bracket was vibrating severely a couple of years ago and finally broke. I cut the broken bracket at the bend and bolted it to a bracket I made of 3/16" aluminum. It's solid now.
