so i go to do some work today and when i get the rear brake side all set on my new Tarrozzi's...they never included any way to hook up the threaded brake rod to the brake pedal linkage...i am looking at the rod and wondering if I am supposed to bend the footrest end of the threads at a 90* in my bench vise and then put it through the tarozzi links hole and put the nut on...seems ..pretty weak ass way of doing it...anyone ever seen this before...now i gotta wait till konday and fast from the past and see what they include or wtf

No don't bend the rod. Get a Heim Joint/ rod end to screw onto the rod, then it will take a bolt through the rearset bracket. Ace Hardware has some, maybe Lowes or the Home Depot. But I know Ace stocks several.

Like this one on the right, female to fit onto your rod. They also have socket and stud types, which will have the bolt to go through the hole.

so i talked to Jim @ fast from the past...and while a decent guy and willing to talk about my issue of the missing rod end and bolt/clipped dowel to join the arm to the rod....he was at first of the opinion that the kz900 was a differnt brake than maybe they listed for the Z1 drum...or maybe those rearsets fit many models.....when i sent him the pics in this thread he offered to sell me a rod end for 25 plus shipping and told me to go find a bolt and nut and i would be all set....

I could not "find " a rod end heim joint m6x1...in my area and will now have to order one and bolt it at a 90* to the tarrozzi arm,as opposed to the rearset having a arm that has a hole for the stock rod to pass through and the stock nut go on....

SO....The rearsets dont fit KZ900 as listed on the box and the blow up diagram in the box, does not show any part to link the rear brake...even though it does include the part that slides over the frame pivot that only 73-76 drum Z's had.....
My other idea is to put the arm in my bench vise and put a giant cheater on a big jaw adjustable wrench and twisting the passage hole inline with threaded brake rod///pass it through and dbl aircraft nut it on

in that pic the thread rod is resting down by the center stand and although hard to tell would line up with the hole if they had made it right...if they had welded their arm on so it's mount hole was inline and not sideways..i could lift the thread rod pss it through and nut it and go riding....

no help...no part sent...no knowledge of how this mounts up....no sorry bout that let make a phone call....no history or pics to e-mail of this part they sell on the bikes listed...just "go buy a bolt"...it would then be in direct torsion from the two parts being offset...torsion on a tiny bolt on motorcycle brakes...what a bunch of bull...I can MAKE it work but for F&*(S sake...no one seems to have a decent shake these days

Don't bend/ twist the lever, the strength for the linkage will suffer. You will now be pulling on it at just the thickness of the metal, and not the width. Not engineered for that.
There are several places on line to order joints from. 6x1mm thread? Left or right hand thread?
Lets see; www.fkrodends.com/SCMMTSCFMT8.html
they show your 6x1mm in a Female, two piece with Teflon self lubricating bushing. I'd see how much from them.

sure...but the thickness of that tab to me is safer than a little bolt and nut being sheered on over and over and over....

Use a clevis rod end, if you can't find M6 just drill and tap a SAE one. Look on McMaster Carr site under "Power Transmission" then "Rod Ends" you can narrow pieces down with sizes on the left column.
