79 kz 650 forks help!

My bike has single disc front end and I would like the dual disc. will both fork fit my triples also if I switch to the mag wheels front and back are the spaces the same. If any one knows please let me know.

You should add the year and model of your bike to your signature line. Not all KZ650's are the same.

IF you have a B model with the single front disk you should be able to install the front fork assembly from a C model (dual disk) into the triple tree because the B and C use the same triple tree part numbers. The rear wheel is a different story. The cast wheel from a C model uses a disk brake instead of the drum on a B model. Switching to the disk brake requires swapping the swing arm (or modifying the B arm for the different torque link, etc.) and requires welding on a bracket for the rear master cylinder (MC) and installing the MC are related bits. So yeah I deff. have a B model. so if I get a C model swingarm with the disc will it be a bolt on.

The swing arm should bolt on ok, the B and C models use the same swing arm shaft. Your B model should have bushings rather than bearings in the swing arm pivot, so when buying, be sure to check that the C arm has the same (it should). You should plan on replacing the bushings while you have things pulled apart. Also, be sure the swing arm comes with all the parts including the torque link - it is different that the one on the B model.

Keep in mind you will need to make a bracket or get one from a C model and have some welding done to attach the rear master cylinder to the frame. Ed

You might be able to install the rear wheel from a KZ550A Standard. Those bikes have an 18" rear wheel w drum brake.

The 550-Ltd wheels were a direct bolt-on to my 81 650-CSR (16" Rr w drum brake). The CSR is different from the earlier 650s, so you'll need to do some checking &/or parts cross-referencing to see if it'll work.
