Wheel Torque

I am getting ready to change out the front tire on my '83 750 Spectre. Found some Dunlop 404's for a decent price was wondering if anyone had any feedback on them, also if anyone knows the recommended torque for when I put the wheel back on that would be incredibly helpful. Thanks

A factory manual is handy for stuff like this. Not sure if there's a pdf in the filebase here.
If you'd like a hard copy, search ebbaayy for KZ750 Shaft Manual - they come up for sale often & usually there are 1 or 2 reasonably priced. Kawasaki service manuals have a model application chart on the back cover.

I ran Dunlop GT501's, and they were a decent tire, then made a mistake when I cheaped out and went with the Dunlop 404's. Front end washed out twice with the 404's, where a GT501 would not have.

If you're a cruiser, then the 404's will work fine.

Thanks for all the help and advice. I ended up going with a Dunlop 404. Not the top of the line but not the cheapest piece of crap I could get my hands on either. Just took it for a ride after a grueling hour wrestling with it and it rides awesome!!

Thanks again everyone its appreciated!

The 404 is not a great tire to say the least. I tried a set once, and they are not bad at first, but be careful after they age. This is the only tire I've run in 43yrs of riding that I removed before it was bald. Got real scary when even 1/2 worn.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I'm going to try a set of Michelin Commander IIs. My back tire is basically bald.

So far all is good, major improvements over the one with I had. It had all kinds of cracks in the sidewall made me nervous. I haven't had issues with it so far granted its only seen about 100 miles. I'll keep an eye on it and pay close attention though.
