speedo reading wrong

79 kz1000ltd, i replaced ft tire with same size as stock. speeedo reading 5 mph to fast! i dont know if this was a problem with old stock tier as it was worn out and i never rode the bike with it on. any suggestions?

i look much better with my helmet on, its full face.

5mph is about as accurate as you will be able to get.
Mine is approx 10mph with stock wheels/tires/new speedodrive

I have a Garmin E-Trex hiking GPS which i have clipped on to the bike. I use the GPS for speed readout.
another cheap way would be to mount your smartphone (with GPS) on your bike and you can download an app that acts as a speedometer.

Remember just because it list as the same size on
the side wall does not mean it's the same diameter.

1980 KZ650 F1

Mine's about 5mph off at around 60mph too. If you find a fix, please let us know.

thanks for the input, guess ill live with it. by the way, you guys know way to much about these old bikes. you need to get a life! i love it,ride on.
