Tried & True Modern brake swaps for KZ? was created by Hollywoodmx
I'm looking for a list of possible doner brakes from my KZ forks. I have no interest rebuilding the poor performing stock one. I will be replacing the master cyl as well. I realize this options involve fabbing brackets.

I think I remember reading the early 90s tokicos from a zx6 work on the kz rotors. Are there others?

Fuck it. I ended up buying a mid 90s zx11 calipers and master as the rotor thickness was close enough.

Will the caliper fit between the disk and the wheel?

The ZX11 guys take the stock calipers off and replace them with Honda F4i Nissin calipers. :P

4 piston or 2 piston calipers? I tried 4 piston calipers on the front of a KZ and they would not clear the wheel on the backside. 95-96 GPz1100 has 2 piston calipers that might work, but I don't believe the 4 piston calipers off the ZX11 will.

You can have pretty damn good brakes using bolt on components, if I hit the front brakes on my KZ750 hard one of two things will happen, the front tire will lock up and slide, or it will do a stoppie. And that's using all Kawasaki bolt on components. You really should do some research on brake systems before you start changing things.
