Are 77 KZ650 front brakes different than a 78 650?

I have just picked up a KZ650B 1977 and the front brakes will need to be completely replaced. These are destroyed. I found a good condition caliper but for a 78. Can I still use it? It sure looks the same.

Also, I think I will put a SS brake line with a new front master too. Can I use a master from another model or are the KZs very specific about the brake master? Just curious. Any help is appreciated.

Caliper should be same, worse case scenario you might need to switch caliper bracket.
Any 1/2" master cylinder should work with it. :)

Thanks for the advice. I sure appreciate it.

Cheers.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the KZ 650 models of those years 76-81? Mine is a B, but I see that there is a C model and such. Just curious is all.

Thanks,

Here is an excellent KZ650 site that describes in detail the differences between the models. Just click on the buttons to the right of the Home button. Ed
