Help with disassembly of Front Master Cylinder
25 Jan 2013 12:21
1978 SR 650
How do I get the piston out? Do I need to pull off this dust cover?
If I remove the dust cover does that allow the piston to come out freely, or does it need to be knocked out from the back side?

Trying to work on these bikes without the manual is like walking blindfolded down a busy highway; you really must get the Kawasaki Service Manual or you will wreck expensive stuff on your bike.
You will not be able to remove the piston until you remove the piston liner (#9). To do that you need to depress the little tabs on it. Ed
