Rusty Chain,Sprockets or Items ? was created by 4TheKZ1000
Ok guys....have a rusty chain or sprocket with plenty of used left and want to remove the rust....this is your product.

You say....cant use on a O-Ring chain....wont hurt the rubber o-rings. Put chain in container...pour enough in to cover chain and walk away. Come back to a rust free chain well lubed to boot.

Its Non-Chemical and Bio-degredable. Can be used where rust is found.

Great maintance tip for the winter months when not riding. I did it and it worked great. When I removed chain....I hung it over the container for a few days as the left over fluid dripped off. Wipped the rest off and put in plastic bag till spring.

Not cheep at $30 per gallon.

I would be interested if it works. How old is the chain? When I was restoring my bike, not wanting to spend the money on a new chain (wanted to go with a 530 eventually anyhow so I figured it can wait), I purchased a rear sprocket but tried to rehabilitate the original chain that came with the bike. So I soaked it (forgot what I used) and then sprayed it with chain lube big time. Adjusted the chain properly (there was couple of notches left of adjustment) after having installed the new rear sprocket. Bottom line, the chain streached within 230 miles and ruined the new rear sprocket. Rear sprocket was cheap so no great shakes, and the front sprocket was fine. Not saying that will happen to you but figured I'd give you a heads up.

Wonder how well that would work for removing rust in a gas tank?

Surface rust is gone with this WD 40 stuff....would work good for gas tank rust that is minor. Also wouldnt have to worry about paint damage, fumes or flash rust when done......
