rear brake lever 82 gpz550

hey guys, how do you remove the rear brake lever on a 82 gpz550 thankz................

Howdy. From the diagrams at PowerSportsPlus.com your Rr brake pedal has a splined shaft & pinch bolt.
Remove the pinch bolt then pull the pedal off.

However, it probably won't be that easy - it may be stuck to the shaft. Therefore, soak the end of the pedal & shaft w LiquidWrench penetrating lubricant, let it sit a while, maybe overnight, tap, tap, tap w a hammer & wooden block, then try to remove it. You might be able to pry open the end of the pedal w a big screwdriver, but be careful not to booger it up doing so.

Gentlemen,,, I have removed the brake shaft,,, the rear wheel has to come off, the swingarm has to be removed or atleast unbolted and moved out of way... i WD40'd the shaft ,heated up lightly and tapped her out with hammer,,,,it seems the culprit is our worst enemy,,,,RUST....thankz for interest...see ya on the road

Could you have removed the muffler stay, then tap out the shaft from it? Instead of the swing arm? .... might've been easier... unless the brake pedal shaft isn't connected to the stay, then never mind.

FYI: wd40 isn't really a penetrant. Kroil, LiquidWrench penetrating lubricant, & PB Blaster are more suitable.
