Ok....front hub has a part called a Bearing Brag.....it is a bar or spacer that takes up the space inside the hub between the two bearings so when you tighten up the axle....it dosent crush or collapse the bearings.

Its number 12 on my bike and above diagram. See the washer looking piece on the brag....that keeps the brag centered and from falling down to the bottom of hub so you can slide the axle though the bearing and brag.....you need to find a end and push the collar brag down on one side.....you then can come from other side and drive out bearing.

Don't ask me how I know this, but there is a snap ring on the outside of the bearing. No matter how much you bang on the bearing, it'll never move with the snap ring in place. Also, I purchased both a bearing removal set and a bearing driver set from eBay...just the cheaper generic ones (e.g. they don't have to be the snap-on set). Once you figure out how to use them, wheel bearings are incredibly easy to remove and install.

I use a cut piece of PVC pipe to install mine...works great....but would use the proper tool like Mcdroid mentioned if you have access to it.

Remove the snap ring circlips. You may have to pry out an oil seal to gain access to one or two of the circlips.

Distance collar. In regards to the distance collar or spacer, some of them have a washer or flange press fit onto them. If yours does, remove the bearing opposite from the flanged end. The flange helps to keep the spacer centered in the hub, so the opposite end is easier to push aside a little to get a tool to catch the bearing race.

Reassembly. When installing the new bearings, be careful which one you do first. In some cases the distance spacer can only be installed thru one side, so you have to do the opposite bearing first, install the spacer, then the other bearing. Apply grease to the outer races prior to installation. A little grease on the wheel wouldn't hurt. I used an inexpensive bearing drive set... from SummitRacing I think.

As stated, remove the circlips. You may also want to soak the outer race of the bearing with Kroil. I had no problems driving mine out using a brass drift pin and hammer. Be sure to move the drift around the bearing so it comes out evenly. If you bang too much in one spot I suppose you can get it cocked in there. Ed

If you've got the right tools, this is a really good run down step-by-step on how to get the wheel bearings out.

Kinda odd. He has fancy tools to remove the old junk bearings, but improvises to install the new ones. I'd rather use a proper bearing driver than a big ole' socket. hee.
