Adjustable Kickstand?
27 Dec 2012 13:33 - 27 Dec 2012 13:34
The ebay item id given is invalid, no result has been sentI've noticed some really cool adjustable kickstands for many of the modern sport bikes. Does anybody know of one that will fit our KZ's? I've seen a lot of them for the ZX6's and the ZX14's for example. I'd like to have the option of changing between struts and shocks but my kickstand won't work for both.
Anyone know of one that will fit or is anybody here making them? There are some amazing fabricators here on KZR.
This looks like it might fit but I can't know for sure:

Id be worried about it telescoping into itself at a really bad time
How about just getting a separate kickstand shortened to whatever you need it to be,then you could just switch back/forth?
As much work as you've put into that bike Id steer away from universal looking stuff.
Remember custom is custom, adjustable is Japanese universal/boring :woohoo:

Telescoping sounds interesting. I would love something adjustable as well. I agree, would need to have confidence that it can't collapse. My bike seems to lean over too much. So extra length would help. Hate the look of welding something to the end. Really, need someway to change the angle of the existing kick stand. Anything that can be adjusted in that regard?

I had never thought about a variable angle....that would be really cool.
I do have a few lengths that I could change out but a simple adjustment would be so much easier...as long as it holds. That would be a concern for me also....if the set screw applies pressure only and does not go through the shaft, I'd never trust it. I'm not sure how these work but some of them definitely look very similar to the KZ stands.

had one of those kickstands on my gixxer 750, too sloppy for my tastes, if i were to make one id use an industrial hiem joint collar and thread the lower foot part so you could use a jam nut, no slop or wiggles and very precise adjustment. just cut and weld and tap....

That's exactly what I used to use when the kickstands were too short.....they are too long now with the bike being lowered so no go with those custom italian parts anymore....
