en500 vulcan shocks

Ive been wanting to lower the 650 a bit, I have read a few times that the vulcan 500 shocks are the easist\cheapest route. I found some used ones online, they are from a 92 en500 (90-96). It was my understanding that the vulcan shocks are 10.5 eye to eye which would bring me down to the desired lowering of 2". I asked the seller to be sure but he says these are between 11 1/4" and 11-1/2" on the bike and 11 3/4" off. Are these the shocks that everybody uses? this would only drop me 1", am I looking at the wrong year 500 shocks?

I believe the recommended Vulcan shocks are ~11.25" eye-to-eye, so using those should lower the bike ~2" as most KZ shocks are ~13" eye-to-eye.
