Wheel cross reference??

Hey guys!
A buddy of mine needs a rear wheel for a 79 KZ750 twin.
I'm having no luck finding one so I thought that maybe there would be the same wheel on different models.
That would allow me to broaden my search.
The part number is: 42048-035

mag or wire,disc or drum?

They would be wire wheels with the disc brakes.

how about a 77-78 kz1000 wheel?whats wrong with his wheel?

He has a fe busted spokes and I think he said that it isn't perfectly straight. so a 77-78 1000 wheel will work?
