fork air valve issue was created by d40265
once again i ask the help of the KZ guru's. i have a busted air valve on the top of my 1981 kz650 csr fork. the part number is 16126-1003 org. the replacement part number is 16126-1052. The replacement part doesn't fit the stock threads. Now em i missing something here or is there a sleeve that i need? The part can be found on eBay and the pictures show a smaller thread, so this has got me lost.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThe "replacement part number" you mention (16126-1052) is listed as being used on the KZ650-H2 & H3, but not on the H1. I do not see that the H1 valve (part number 16126-1003) has been superseded (see pic); what led you to believe there is a newer number for it? Here's one of the valves with the part number 16126-1003 tag next to it. Is that different than the one you bought? Ed

if u look at the diagram u have brought up the small box above the red one has a valve part # 16126A. thats the superseded part that i could get. or at least that's what i came to understand. that ebay part is the one i need and i seem to have found it on bike bandit for $27.00. Is it possible that they changed fork tops mid way through the year and you have to just get the right one. thank you for getting back to me.

Kawasaki.com uses that same general diagram for the H1 and H2. When you reference the H2 model and click on the 16126A part in the box it brings up part number 16126-1052. When you are referencing the H1 model if you click on the one in the box nothing happens, but if you click on the one outside the box (16126) part number 16126-1003 pops up. It is a bit confusing to say the least. I wish you good luck with Bike Bandit. My experience with them has been that they list obsolete parts but cannot supply them. Ed

Lushbaugh I wish it was that easy but the hole thing broke in half. Thanks ed for the help, hopefully this works out or I'll be changing to the 78' front end I have.

Check the thread dia and pitch, it might be 10mm x 1.25 which is common. One of your local bike wreckers or a Bike Shop might have another valve. Then there also would be a good tire store, they may have one.
