Okay... Since our KZ1000 build, we've been asked by several interested people to develop a rigid for the KZ750-Four.

Patrick Nolan from our beautiful home town of Austin, Texas stepped up to the plate and dropped his '81 750 at our front door step!

We designed a rear loop with over 6.5" of stretch and approximately 4" drop!

Here's the bike stripped of all the wiring and components:

And a shot of the bare frame in the jig...

After carefully studying the lines and dimensions of the KZ750, it's striking similarities with the KZ1000 were amazing! In fact, in some places, even more substantial than the KZ1000!!!

Here was the preliminary layout before fabricating the rear loop:

Here is a study photo showing the minute angle necessary to junction with the original angle of the stock back bone:

And we also fabricated an ENGINE JIG while we were at it! Have you ever lifted a KZ750 engine??? Damn!

What is also astounding, is that the 1-1/4" DOM slides PERFECTLY into the stock backbone tube!!!

And here's a shot of the neck being cleaned of the old gusset and frame tubes...

After cleaning the neck components...

A shot of the complete rear loop welded to the original frame (before new neck gussets)...

A shot of the new neck gusset installed...

A close-up of how the new neck gusset follows the contour of the junction between the old and new back bone junction...

And a shot of the rear motor mounts installed!

Rear Profile:

1/2" axle plates (by special order)!

Another shot of the angled neck gusset...

And finally, with the engine re-installed!

Patrick is on his way tomorrow to pick up his new project and I'm hoping we will see some more photographs of his project in development!

Top notch work! Great craftsmanship to boot!

I may have to steal the engine jig idea...

Thanks so much for the great compliments guys!

Yeah... The engine jig REALLY helps!

If you have a 750 frame with all the engine mount brackets, it's pretty straight forward to build. Just have to be careful with "pull" and warping on the welds! Keep checking your mount bolts while you're welding it together and make sure they still have "free play" in them...
