Swingarm suggestions.
25 Sep 2012 22:23
Well, I haven't posted anything up in the build section for awhile. I keep changing my mind as far as what direction I'm going in. Anyway I already picked up a 93 gsxr front end so now I need a swingarm. I have a 78 kz650c3. Any suggestions on a swing arm that will work that will fit a 07 zx6r wheel with a 170 tire?
Thanks,
MS

That's what I've been seeing. Not sure on what year though. I see folks use older ones 88-95 but not sure if they can fit the wheel I want.

I would guess most gixxer swingers will fit a 170 tire, but the axel assembly will likely require a custom setup
Mine:
04 Honda rebel 250(wifes)
04 GSXR 750(bolt on galore)
98 CBR 600F3(filter, pipe, adjustable cam sprokets, dyno tune)
76 KZ900A (LTD gauge pods, crash bars, LTD(style)pipes, dyna coils and ignition, headwork and mild port cleanup by cavanaugh racing, K&N filter pods, heck I dunno.

I did get the brake parts with the wheel. That may be an issue too, it's not a floating caliper.

Just a suggestion, but pick up a 88-92 Gsxr750/1100 arm and get a matching rim to your front end. Some of those 750's during that era used a 4.5" rim and are perfect for use with a 170 tire.
Unless you have a really good reason that you want to use the ZX6 rim...
Later, Doug

Took the dive and bought an 02 GSXR600 swing arm/shock for $80. We will see what happens.
