Vintage tire or modern
17 Sep 2012 11:30
Gotta get some rolling stock for the 550LTD until we decide what we're gonna do with it.
I like some of the old style tires, but also like the handling of the modern tires. I'm a Shinko 712 kind of guy, love the grip these tires have and the price is right.
Here is a vintage Dunlop K70. I think it looks killer. Would look good with the factory mags painted black.
Here is a Duro with factory tread design. Not liking it as much. Only reason I would go with that is if I was going back original, then it would have to have white letters before I would go that route.

Just replaced my vintage Dunlops with BT45s. What the heck was I waiting on, what a difference!

I've used the Metzler, sidewalls dry rotted to fast. Went back to the Bridgestones, better pattern than the Dunlops and better grip IMHO.

Sure it looks OK now, but wait until I really make it pretty, with some chrome and paint and some new tires and grips and the wiring. Don't forget the gearing, and the LED's and, and, and....

IRC GS-11. Great price and retro look. Made in Japan too!
