650 tripple tree replacement?

78 kz650 , Im trying to use clip-ons and eliminate the handlebar mounts on my top tripple tree.... i have searched all over, namely the" what front end did you use" post.....great post btw. I want to keep my front end ( forks, wheel) but want a top tripple tree i can mount my fork tubes into that does not have handlebar mounts sticking up. Direct fit would be great, but i dont mind messing with wheel spacers or having a friend press my stem out/ mill a new one, if need be. any help or ideas? Thank yous

Why do you need to push or mill anything? Buy 36mm clip ons & remove the original handlebar mounts. Thats what i done on my 750 twin

Or have Les Holt , or another of our machining brothers here on KZR make you a custom set of trees like he is now making out of billet for the fork swapping members on this site.

I intend to use clipons but the handlebar mounts are part ofmy top tripple, i cant simply take them off. I will contact les holt, thank you
