Can anyone tell me the thickness of the shim between the front brake pad and caliper is for 77 650 c

It is the metal plate on the pad #10. It has 2 holes that fit on the pegs of the pad

Wondering how the metal plate came loose from the pad.
Thinking that the metal plate is supposed to be a permanent part of the pad.
And uncertain as to advisability of trying to fab up something to suffice for a missing part of the pad, or whether this would be a safe practice.
As braking is pretty important, would in case of doubt spring for a new pad.

Of course the reason for the pad is to minimize brake squeel. If you brake and don't have problems with excessive noise then no need for the pad.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
