GPZ vin location?

Anybody know where the vin location is on a 1982 GPZ 550? I looked on the steering stem and all I found was MADE IN JAPAN KZI on the left side of the stem. Any ideas where else it may be or do I need to take more parts off than just the headlight. The title is clear and not rebuilt or salvaged.

Your are looking in the right place. It should be on the right side of the steering stem when seated o n the bike. The VIN is stamped intot he frame. If someone has painted the frame in the past it can be hard to see.
