Depends on what you want. Maximum grip? Something modern. Long life? Something old-style touring-ish. Classic look? Heidenau and Cheng Shin have many options. I have a Heidenau front and Cheng Shin rear and I'm surprised both about grip and life. No chicken strips, sparks fly and no hint of slipping. Still, if you really start to pile on power and hard cornering, like dragging alternator cover and more, you will want something sportier.

I wonder if those Pirelli's come with white lettering? Just did a search...did not see any with white lettering.

I don't think they do. They may have had the name painted white using Duplicolor Hot Tire or some similar product for the ad.

I was undecided between the Avon Roadriders and The Battlax BT45's and in the end went with the BT45's since every Bridgestone I've owned on my cars or bikes have been great tires. After this set wears out I may try the Avon's since I've heard good things about them too.

I'm running Metzeler Lasertecs. I'm in my second season with them and I like them quite a bit. Silly name, though.

Who do you guys get to mount them. Do you take it to the regular tire shop and let them put it on the hydraulic tire changer? Can they damage the belts on a bike tire? Do motorcycle shops have special tire changer tools? Hate to buy a good tire and watch some tire machine put an indent in my tire. They used to on my motocross bike but it never seemed to matter since I would only operate it off-road.
