Need new master cylinder, help
23 Jul 2012 03:48 - 23 Jul 2012 03:50
No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHey guys, i just got a 78 kz400 b1 and I need to get a new master cylinder. It currently has the trapezoid shape MC that I was planning on rebuilding, but once i took it apart i found that the diaphragm was just about torn off and was pretty rusty inside. Figured i might as well spend a little extra and get a nice clean new one. My question is, what can i use for a replacement MC with little modification? Anyone try these? or
Anyone know of something else? Maybe more affordable? Please help, really want to ride this thing. Thanks

I picked up a new radial Brembo MC for $60 last fall. Took some searching and waiting for the right part to come up.
I remember checking old forum threads to make sure the piston was the right size for my needs, and of course that it was sized for a 7/8" handlebar.
The radial was nice because I switched to a euro bar that was "narrower" than the mini apes, and with my new bar mount mirrors and fairing, I was really tight on handlebar space. And it just looks cool as hell.

Those are sweet, but i cant find one less that 200 bucks. Are you still using the stock caliper?
And does anyone know if the other ones will work?

brake light switch will be easy. just show us what u get and we'll walk u through it. just about any master with the right size piston will work for u. just pay attention to the shape of the bars on yours and the donors for a close match. some bikes have bars with handles that droop. this could necessitate an oil level window that is in a weird position for your application, but would still work.

i used to build and ride ducatis, the aftermarket brembo radials are only very slightly different than the 748 999 848 1098 1198 stockers, look for them on ebay or duc sites, there great cause the direct mounted reserviors.
