Chain Stretch Question??

I took my bike out for the first test ride. I put a new 530 chain conversion on it. I had it all the way to the front and it had about 1/3 inch of slack. After my 5 mile test ride (needless to say I got on it a few times) the chain is much looser than before. I have installed new chains before on other bikes and never noticed the stretch that this one did so soon. Is that normal?

1/3rd" was to tight, and it needed to gain some slack. Hopefully it will settle in. Use a good lube on it.

Yeah I know it was too tight to begin with. I was informed to put it all the way to the front of the adjustment and cut chain to length. If I would have went an extra link it would already been back quite a bit. Oh well, I think it just needed to settle into the new sprockets and whatnot.
