I posted this in another thread that related to a different issue and had now response. So I trying my luck with a more appropriate heading. So excuse my re-posting this.

I couldn't tell how the spacer between the two hub bearings was oriented when it cam out. Should the ridge (skirt) face the sprocket side or should it face the drum side? I have seen hub diagrams showing both ways. But I think the diagram for my bike showed face the sprocket side, but for an LTD the disk side (mine is drum). Anybody know? Functionally, I don't think it matters, but it may for removing the bearings the next time (if there ever will be a next time). I assume the side without the ridge is the side to push out of the way when tapping the bearing out. I'm thinking that is why only one ridge exists. Any ideas?

you want it in the side the axle goes in first. its there to keep one end centered so the axle can go in. could you see trying to put the axle though without it. so if your axle goes though the sproket side face it there.

Yeah, that would be the sprocket side. I kinda figured the sprocket side, but your point just confirmed it for me. Makes perfect sense. Thanks.
