Awesome job! I have a '99 ZRX and often wonder how difficult it would be to convert the front and rear ends to my KZ. You make it sound so easy. I bid on a ZRX parts bike (no motor) a while back because I thought it would have made a geat donor bike for a KZ project. Yours looks excellent. More pics would be great!

Great looking bike!!! How does it handle now??

Whats up with the fork boots, is there a reason you put them on, or is it just for the look you wanted??

This might be of help. The following is from William H. Carpenter on a thread at dragbike.com/forum a few years ago:

"Important information for any wheel replacement. The chain line for a stock Z-1 bike is 3 5/8". This is the distance from the center of the wheel to the flange where the sprocket mounts. When this is combined with the now standard 5/8" offset (sprocket) gives a wheel with an offset of 4 1/4". This dimension is common for aftermarket wheels whether spoked or mags. If this dimension is something else, like using wheels from another bike, either the stock chain line is used and the wheel is not centered in the chassis or the chain line must be moved an equivalent amount to match the wheel. The wheel offset can easily be measured using a flat surface and a couple of straightedges (rulers). If the chain line is not maintained then the bike will easily break chains."

I've been asked how did I mount the kz gauges to the zrx triple tree? First I milled off all of the "stock" zrx stuff and then lathed two mounting points from round billet stock and welded the mounts onto the zrx triple tree. Check out the pics, you would think I paid for some expensive euro aftermarket part but it was just blood, sweat & tears!

Any idea how accurate your stock speedo is with that 17" front wheel? I was thinking of using the ZRX gages on mine....
