Swing Arm Sleeve for 1978 KZ1000A - Where to buy?

Looking at the Clymer manual it states that the swing arm sleeve will need o be replaced if the outside ends measure 0.864 in. (21.95 mm) or less.

Based on the side to side play my swing arm has I am pretty sure that the whole swing arm pivot will need to be addressed.

Z1 enterprises has the needle bearings listed, however nobody seems to have a sing arm sleeve (based on the schematic in the Clymer for a 1000cc Chain Drive Swing Arm) for a 1978 to 1980 KZ1000.

Where could I find a replacement swing arm sleeve? Or what would be an alternative solution to eliminating the wiggle of my swing arm?

I have seen some with wear on them but have only had to replace one since I had a better one laying around.

I forgot to install one on one build and I finally figured it out after pumping greese about 200 times!

Based on the VIN number of my bike it is a 1978 KZ1000A2 which calls for the swing arm sleeve which takes 4 needle bearings (two on each side) Kawasaki Part Number 42036-1011.

I have found NOS swing arm sleeves with the Kawasaki Part Number 33034-025 which takes 2 of the needle bearing (one on each side).

Looking in the Clymer manual looking at the 78 KZ1000 schematic it also calls for 4 needle bearings.

When searching on Kawaski's website for part number 33034-025 nothing comes up but I have found this on ebay .

Sigh, any help clarifying which swing arm sleeve I need is greatly appreciated

I thought you had already pulled it apart. If you order a set from Z1E I think they come with four needle bearings. That will probably take the slop out of your swingarm.

If you only need two you will have a extra set. That is what I do. Roy

Does that mean that both types of swing arm sleeves will fit, one sleeve will just require two bearings and the other four?

Thank you all for your help and replies!

Waste of time and money to get it honed, if the sleeve slides through the bearings then it's straight, if not then throw it away and get another one.
Honing removes metal, and there goes your bearing fit.

Get a better machinist,He'll know right away if its bent when he runs a hone through it.
That was common practice back in the day when switching from bushings in z1 swingarms to needle bearings, also when swithing from single needle bearings to double needle bearings on the early 76-77 kz900/1000 swingarms back in the late 70s-early 80s. B)
