i was wondering what is the best way to put on clubman handle bars. do i have to shorten the clutch and throttle cable? if so how? how do i get the throttle off the old handle bars without braking them? do i get 7/8" or 1"? any advice would be GREAT!!!! thanks.

Welcome joshjones84.
Assuming you have a KZ, the handle bar size is 7/8".

For throttle removal, remove left (clutch) side control, remove 4 headstock handle bar clamp screws, loosen the two screws holding the throttle housing and slide the throttle assembly off end of handle bars.

You can re-route the cables without the need to shorten, test for full front end steering, full right to full left to check for binding or pinch points.

This is a set mounted on a 80 KZ750 LTD

Good luck

Just make sure to test everything before riding. When I first ditched the high rise bars my routing caused the engine to rev up at full right lock. You might see why that could be bad.

josh, check Z1 Enterprizes, clubman bars black or chrome $26-$28 plus shipping would be my choice.

They have lots of other stuff you may need eventually and usually better prices than e-bay.

Good luck,

They look good but youll get tired of them real quick on long rides and the bike is kind of a hand full at slow speeds. I run the Superbike bars on mine, just a thought

I grabbed the pair off of ebay for $35 bucks- no big deal man! Great bars! You'll have to relocate your blinkers, but besides that, they're the stuff.

What have you guys done to relocate the turn signals? I just changed my bars, but the blinkers just barely fit (right hits tank when cranked all the way). Can I purchase something so I can mount them to the forks or just have something made up? I've got a '83 KZ550 Spectre.

I put LED brinkers on mine. I drilled holes in the headlight bracket and mounted one on each side. If you use LEDs you will need the LED flasher as well. There is an LED topic in recent posts discussing the LEDs and the correct flasher. You can see mine in this pic.
