84 GPZ 1100 ENGINE REBUILD
09 May 2012 15:52
I was wondering if it's normal for this engine to burn oil from just below full to where you see in the picture below. I only rode the bike for 45 minutes from first rebuild.

A newly rebuilt engine will consume oil while it is being broke in. What do the plugs look like? I do not do facebook so I can not see your pic

the plugs look black on the threaded inner shell. the electrode is black half way up the rest is ''white'' the tip meaning the piece that it bent over the electrode is ''dark brown /greyish''.
I started it up and did notice a bit of blue white smoke from the exhaust, but it cleard up when she warmed up to temporature.
I'll take the bike for another run today and take a video of the plug.
