so im actually thinking about finding the same diameter bolt to run a nut onto then weld to the end of the stud,(head away from bike) then hack off head run off nut(to clean the threads) and viola fixed?
any thoughts or concerns?
the nut and thread dont hold much weight, they just keep the shock on the stud, so......
i think it will work. lol

i am sure leon or les could turn a rod down and rhread it for you. if you have the means to weld it in
I ground my studs off when I did my conversion so it wont be that tough to get it out.
You might try pm-ing one of those guys they have bikes there to get the measurments off of

drill a hole dead center tap it bout 5/16 put a stud in it and washer and acorn nut but im just a red neck :whistle:

hell man im redneck too i was thinking about putting the shocks on and just welding a washer over the nub. if i ever gotta tke em off ill just grind the welds lol

well went and tossed some shocks on today and said F&*# it took it to a buddy's and had him just weld a washer to the end of the stud. works good and come this winter im tearing it down and ding gaskets and paint so its up and riding till then.

here is a picture to show you what zed1015 was talking about.
(this is where extra shock mounts have been added to "laydown" the shocks.)
