OH MY ACHING A$$......
25 Apr 2012 15:43 - 25 Apr 2012 15:53
ok so im out for a ride today on my 1100A and one of the bladders in my rear air suspension blows! thus i have no rear bouncy bouncy, which SUX.
i stop by the 3 shops on my way home and they all tell me to get Progressive 12 series hd suspension components at about 650 dollars.
Screw that im broke.
so with the collective knowledge of all the wizards on this site i know someone has an alternative to 600 bucks.
i even toyed with the Idea of filling em with spray foam as a quick fix.
ok....j/k but i do need a better way. Any ides?
does anyone make suspension other than progressive? its all i can find. WTF!
btw. im a big friggin guy need good support

You don't say which model you have, but if it's a 1983 KZ1100-A3 Hagon lists shocks for it. I don't know if they would work on an A1 or A2, but you may want to check with Hagon to see if they do. Hagon makes quality shocks; I've been using them for several years and am very pleased. Ed

Searching KZ1100 shocks on ebay produces several listings of possible interest.
Or just click here > motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=KZ1100+...sid=p4506.m270.l1313
Good Fortune!

Have heard of them, was looking at them as an option for my project bike. There are a number of companies you can get shocks from. There are cheapos on the Fleabay if you just need something temporary.
Have you looked at the Progressives from Z1Enterprises? I don't remember them being $600 when I looked at them.

They aren't the "HD" line (can't tell, that might just be which springs are used), but they'll get you shocks from just under $250.

IKON is an Australian company that took over the Koni motorcycle shock line.

Edit:
From the Ikon link above:
This building served well until Koni decided to close it’s production of motorcycle shock absorbers (which it began in 1967) in 2000. This decision lead to a special licence agreement being struck between Proven and Koni allowing proven to make the motorcycle shocks under its own name for the worldwide market.

They have different lengths so if you want to go shorter that is also an option. I lowered my rear by over an inch on my KZ1100, and if feel so much better. I think the shortest ones they have are 290MM which is abotu 11.5". I orderd the parts on Thursday, they came form Canada the next week on Friday. By that afternoon I was stylin' and profilin'. I highly recommend them, the service was great, the parts are good quality. they come with different size bushings and a tool for adjusting the preload.
