KZ1000 rear caliper

I need to know if the rear caliper on a '78 KZ1000 is the long style like the type on the '80 LTD and Z1-R models or the short style?
My bud has a '78 LTD with the short style rear caliper that looks a lot like a front caliper.
Which is correct for the '78 KZ?

Can anyone here point me in the right direction to a publication that I can get build facts out of for early Z1 and KZ Kawis? I've been wanting a good source for detailed info on these bikes. Thanks.

Right on. So that is the correct caliper on my '78 KZee!!
Funny that the '78 LTD has the short caliper.
Any good publications for build info with plenty of PICS???

Redline has some info on their site. Two piston rears are A model and single piston rears are LTD.

Good to know. This has got me thinking. Would the single piston rear caliper tame the rear brakes down a bit? The rear on my A2 with a SS brake line is kinda touchy. What is a good way to tame it down and keep it from locking up the wheel so easy?
