Sprung bobber

Hey people. Just about to start my (sprung) bobber project on my 79 z1000ST. Just putting the feelers out for ideas, thoughts on which way to go. Things I'm wondering are- should I keep the shaft? Should I get a bolt on hard tail? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would say that depends. I'm doing my first bobber project and didn't go to a full hardtail. Instead, I'm installing tie-rods and a springer seat.

Full hardtail is a matter of whether or not you have the ability to get it done right. I don't have the space or tools yet. So, I'm glad I choose not to go that route. Plus, is making the project go faster and allowing me to upgrade some other stuff like controls and other body work since my budget stays the same.

Just some thoughts though.

yeah ogcoda,

like leon said, nice bike. very much what i'd like to have/do but the full hardtail conversion can be a bit much when you're first starting out. but that looks great. more pics?

I messed with a few different ideas on my 750 before I just bit the bullet and went all out rigid. Search around for a local shop to do the install and find a nice universal kit like the tcbros. I messed up and ordered one for an xs instead of the universal, but the shop was still able to make it work.
