Caliper Pistons was created by Brown_Muscle
Both my caliper pistons are slightly pitted, and for safety reasons (and piece of mind) I am going to replace them...
My question is, will this work? www.z1enterprises.com/Brake-Caliper-Pist...Z650-KZ550-4270.aspx

I know i have the 42MM piston, however it is not listed as being accepted for use in a shaftey. I can get them from bikebandit.com, however they are twice the price.

Bike's a 79 KZ1000ST.

Thanks!

-Phil

Opening this link in the Kawasaki.com parts pages will show you which model bikes take the same piston, 42mm. You can do the same for the rear if needed.

Sounds like an awesome site...but all that comes up is a window telling me that "your user session has timed out" Perhaps the link is broken?

Start by going to Kawasaki.com. On left side put cursor over "Owner Information" then on drop down menu click on "Parts Diagrams." The click "Continue" next to "Motorcycles" and click on model/year/etc. on drop down. Ed

Here's a link for help with navigating the kawasaki.com site, and finding information such as parts diagrams, part names, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc.

Click here > kzrider.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&...w&catid=13&id=376734

The part numbers shown for front and rear brake caliper pistons on kawasaki.com do not correspond with the numbers shown at Z1E.

kawasaki.com shows: 43020-1012 and 43020-1011.

Could contact Z1E and ask them about this.

Did you ever find out if that piston you have a link to from Z1E will work? I have a 1980 LTD B model and am looking for a piston myself. Please let me know. Thanks

They actually posted a piston up that will work when I first started asking on here. This is the link: www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=4734

Like Patton said the part number for the front pistons is 43020-1012. (i believe the rear is 1011)

HOWEVER, I actually ordered them from a different site that was less expensive. Here is the link to where I got them from: www.partsnmore.com/parts/kawasaki/kz1000...ssis&filters=kz1000e

(ok that link didn't work, however if you select your bike, or the kz1000e like mine, on the left and chassis it will come right up. It will show the 43020-1012 reference number)

Fast shipping and the pistons seem to be of good quality! Good luck!
