Swingarm identification question.
31 Jan 2012 23:50
Hey guys. I was wondering if I could get some help identifying this swingarm. I have 3 swingarms here in my parts pile. This is the one that came freshly powdercoated, so I'd rather use this one.
The needle bearings were removed for powdercoat. I believe it to be a KZ1000 swingarm. I'm thinking it is from a model that uses only 1 bearing per side. I just want to be certain before ordering new bearings.
If it helps, the number 607 is stamped on the swingarm. It is the only marking to speak of.

To me it looks like my KZ650-C1 swingarm. My swingarm does not use bearings, it uses bushings. Here's mine:

Could be, I suppose. The overall length is 22" if that helps at all. 9" wide at the tube.

That's what my swing arm measures and I've got a 78 kz1000.
also my chain guard bracket matches what you have.
To me it looks like you have the single bearing type.
Make sure you have the right sleeve for it.

The numbers are a date code
6 is 1976
07 is July
The curly bracket holds a brake hose - so it's a disk rear end.
So it would likely have been used on an early 77 model built in the August/September 1976 time frame
