Rearsets

Yikes! And I thought the $260 for the Tarozzi's at AmericanClassix was steep!

japan.webike.net/products/1820211.html

Anyways - anyone made their own rearsets? I know Testarossa made an attempt. I was thinking about doing this for my race project, but between the cost of plate, and the tools I don't have it's looking like the Tarozzi's might just be cheaper.

I also don't see many go for under $150 from the newer bikes on fleabay either - I had considered trying to retrofit a set from a Ninja or CBR or something.

Looking for ideas/thoughts.

If you're looking for the 650, try out rstnicks thread over on kz650.info. He goes right through an easy way to put GSXR rearsets on a 650.

Anyone buying those fancy-schmanzy rearsets will also buy the exhaust system. After all, shipping is free.

Yeah, I'm not sure what currency conversion they are using, but I think it's a bit insane.

it used to be common to turn the pegs , and ther brackets ,upside down and mount them on the oposite side. not sure if this would give u enough clearance for the track. but it would be easy to try and find out.

I think you're right.
I just input the 86,000yen they're listing for the rearsets into an online Currency Conversion chart, and it comes up like this:

86000.00 JPY = 1118.52 USD (site lists rearsets @ 1117.14 USD)

And 1 Japanese Yen = 0.0130060 USD

1 US Dollar = 76.8874 JPY

Nice goodies, but there's clearly two problems here: They're conversion calculator is slightly off, and who ever set the prices for their products (shipping is included, but isn't going to be THAT much) is sniffin 2-stroke exhaust! :woohoo:

what ever u use, make sure u can readily get replacement parts in case of a crash. the solid , rather than folding , pegs, are a bit of a bonous. they act as sliders too.
i use woodcraft rearsets and u can get each part individualy. of course they dont make then for kz's, not may do. but u can make an adaptor plate. but they cost even more. $300

Thanks, Mark. I thought I had the three bolt foot pegs (do they even exist or was I just halicunating) but I have the two peggers which I can flip over. I'll start there - big difference in clearance. Just have to check on the pedal reach after doing so. I'd like a set of fixed metal pegs for them too ... going to have to research.
