do you think this would work on my 750R1? i want to get rid of my slip on bars. i know the kz700 looks like the 750R1 and i was thinking about just using the top part so i can get sportbars.

Hell, get a hold of Leon (531blackbanshee) or some of the other Machinist on this site asking if they could custom make a top tree for EXACTLY what your looking for.

Leon, Testarossa, rsling just to mention a few have done some truly nice machining work...

BTW, for other long time members, what ever happened to Irishwill for he did custom work all the time...

Just a thought...

why dont u post a pic of your top tree so we can see what it looks like. it may be easier to adapt to what u have. if u change the trees u need to make sure the fork tubes and offset are the sames .

i just looked up the part number for the lower tree and its the same part number for both the 1984 kz700 and 1982 gpz750R1, so i would think it should work.

u can just drill holes and add risers. then u can use conventional bars.
