Sure. Quickest, safest route to a lowered tail I've seen is a set of HD Sportster "Hugger 883" (chick bike) shocks.
Never seen a set of struts - or what they do - that I cared for...

Hey wireman. You spooked me a bit. I had a pair of sporties on and my forks a inch up in the trees. Now I've put on Zrex shocks (boosts me back up about an inch), can I still leave the forks where they are and be safe??

I lowered mine by getting a set of lowering tubes from schnitzrcing.com. You have to take the forks apart to get them in but I like it better than sliding the forks up in the clamps. They only cost about $15 and come in a few different sizes. Just be carefull when you first ride it due to ground clearance.

lowering the frontend and raising the rear does strange things to high speed handling, some people will disagree with that but in my personal experiance it can get real scary with a tank slapper at 100mph,been there done it and somehow walked away but my shorts were never the same afterwards!:S   :woohoo:Hey wireman. Hey waterman. I rode around with dropped forks and zrx shocks for a while without any problems. The bike did turn in a lot easier. I would still be running the ZRX shocks but they looked to damn modern on my bike, trying to find something that looks more vintage. Going back to my 30 yr old stockers was a "shocker" though hehe.

Go to the Gallery, then click on the User Panel, should walk you right through it. Make sure your pic is sized small enough.

Yes it will turn easier at the expense of high speed stability.
When I'd go to the drags I'd slide the tubes up and put some struts on the back.
