could someone let me know what year of gsxr swingarms are the easiest swap to a kz900.I have done the gs1100 before but like the looks of the gsxr swingers and I would just weld on shock mounting tabs for it.Are the older ones easier than newer?looking at a 160-180 tire. thanks

1995 GSXR 750 fit my KZ1000 frame easily enough. I had to make bushings for the pivot, and weld in mount points for the upper shock mount, and lower linkage mount to use the mono-shock. I'm running a 180/55r17.

05 1000 fit my 82 with no issues, so I would assume just about any of them between 95 and 05 will work.. :)

I mocked up an 07 600/750 swinger the other day, fits ok but there is a bracket on the frame that needs to come off on the right side. It would need reducer bushings made of course, as the swing arm pivot bolt is much larger on the 07.

I've heard a Hayabusa arm is a close fit also.

For reference, the 95 GSXR is 21 3/8" from the pivot centerline to the axle centerline. Obviously that length is dependent on where you have the chain adjusters set, but that's about the middle of the adjustment range. Not sure about the length of the newer units. One thing about the newer bikes is that if you want to go longer, then there are swingarm extensions sold for those bikes.

i think mine was a L model late 80s early 90s ithink, same size axle and swingarm bolt bearings and is actually narrower than z swingarm so all you need is a washer each side to space it properly.
