1982-J2 -- Does Frame need extra support?

Working on a build for the 82 and wanted to know if there are any recommended frame upgrades while im at it? Frame looks pretty solid and has supports where most of the gusset kits would require it.. Any input?

Thanks,

Jack

Typically braces are added in the coil area to triangulate the backbone and secondary tubes there, extra bracing is added in the V just above the swing arm pivot, if you dump the air box, a cross brace can be put in there, and sometimes a tube between the top shock mounts out back. I thought I had some pics, but cannot find them.

Tex, thanks for the info, i appreciate it. It looks as if i will only need to do the tail section as the coil area and column area are already done on the J model... Save me some time for sure. I will try and snap some shots tomorrow for reference.

that 82 frame is about 3 times stronger than a z1/kz frame even in stock form!

What are you going to use it for? I think that would determine whether or not it's necessary.
