Tapered steering bearing recommendations

Hey all, I'm in the process of ordering a set of tapered steering head bearings. It is my understanding I need them to be 30x52x17 30x48x14. I am looking at a couple online, one made by All Balls P/N: 22-1014. Looks like it comes with upper and lower bearings with shells and seals. The other is by Pyramid Parts comes with upper and lower bearings with shells and seals and bearing grease. Z1 enterprises carries carries the All Balls bearings but are out until the end of the month. No big deal I can wait. But they also sell a more expensive one which doesn't seem to come with the seals. Any information on any of these bearings is appreciated.

I installed All Balls tapered roller bearings (from Z1E) in my KZ650-C1. The difference between them and the old loose ball bearings is night and day. They really are a worthwhile upgrade. The old bearings were notchy from the balls hammering dimples in the races. There aren't enough "O"s in smooooth to describe the steering since installing the new bearings. Ed

Yeah, and my ball and racer type is probably worse then most. I have a set of new forks I'm about to replace and would like to replace the bearings and paint the triple tree at the same time. Did the set you got from Z1E come with the seals, shells and grease? Just wondering. That's who I was planning on getting them from once I decided which brand.

Not grease or seals. They seal up pretty tight without rubber seals. I used Bel Ray waterproof wheel bearing grease very liberally when I installed them. I don't think much could get in them unless you hit them with a pressure washer. Ed

I just installed some All Balls Bearings and they came with dust seals, no grease. Grease is cheap!
