I have a gs 1100 swing arm on my bike (Z1), I torque to spec but realized a over tightening issue, I have loosened up, metal properties ??? steel vs aluminum ??? what would be the norm ???

ok let me clarify
I tightened by feel , too loose
I tightened to spec 93 ft lbs, too tight

If you mean the rear axle nut, on my 750 the spec is around 100 ft-lbs. On mine, it's all steel in that assembly no aluminum I know of.

I have the same swing arm and I just tighten it as tight as I can get it with a Box End wrench. No reason to torque it.
