Master Cylinder sight glass removal???

Hi
I want to get my 1000 Ltd front brake master cylinder powder coated.
Any tips on removing the sight glass please? It seems to be fixed with a chrome ring on the outside with a slot on the inside where you can just see the glass. I reckon if I poke a screwdriver in there I will end up with a broken glass!

I managed to do it without breaking it by prying ever so gently from the outside with a small thin bladed screwdriver against the metal ring. Mine was a mess and it actually came out fairly easy. Good luck
