Hi, New member here. Am building a street/drag Z900 and am interested if anyone has raked this frame and how they did it. Also can anyone identify my frame as I don't have documents for it. I believe it is a '76 LTD, Frame no. is Z900B-504881.

the B in the serial number says ltd to me anyway.how much are you trying to rake the frame,streetbike-dragbike?
have you thought about picking up a differant kz frame to rake, the 900 ltd's are on the scarce side .
id be willing to bet somebody looking to restore a chopped up 900ltd would pay decent money for that origional frame, regular kz900/1000 frames can be picked up pretty cheap B)

there should be a k in front of the z if so then yes it is a 76 ltd 900. as far as rakeing it all depends on how far you want to go as to what can or should be done.

Thanks for help identifying my frame. It has the bracket for rear m/cyl so now I know what i've got...
I raked a CBX Honda 6 cyl by cutting the original headset in half vertically, trimming the back top section more than the lower part to achieve the required angle which was 37 degrees and letting in a cleaned up used headset. This way all the original welds to the frame tubes retain their integrity and the new headset is firmly nested into the back half of the original headset tube. Not quite as pretty as some but nice and strong. Wish me luck !!
