Chain Guards??

What is the difference in the metal and plastic chain guards? Are they for different models? I think I need the Plastic one for my 1980 KZ 550 A1, but are they interchangeable?

I'd ask at www.redlinecycle.com as they have a selection of plastic ones and can probably tell you the difference.

Take a look at how they mount; they may have different bolt hole spacing. I don't know about the KZ550, but the KZ650 metal guards have different mounting hole locations than the plastic. I was lucky and got an aftermarket chrome one for my KZ650 back in the day, but finding them now is very difficult. Below is a list of models that used the same chainguard (part #36014-1005) as yours. Ed
