So.....riding home from work yesterday on the highway and heard something fall off my bike, then my chain caught munged up for sec then started to roll again. Get the bike back to the shop and took the case off and the sprocket was floating around with no hardware....so now today...beautiful up in new hampshah.....I was gonna goto fastenal and gett some washers and abolt to slap onthe front sprocket assembly.........so ......my question.......is this dangerous to not use the factory widgets toreassemble my lil piggy? Appreciate any input.

For sure I would use the factory washer, and it is still available (about $3). Take a look at the parts diagram on Kawasaki.com. You'll notice the inner diameter of the washer is cut to match the splines on the output shaft. Kawasaki could have saved $$ by not making a special washer, so there must have been a good reason to do so. Also, check the Kawasaki service manual to see if a locking agent is called for as Chaotic Reason recommends; it may be, and be sure to torque it to the spec in the manual. Ed
